Bizarro at Six Flags Great Adventure – New Jersey

Although promoted as a new roller coaster for 2009, Bizarro is really just an update to Great Adventure’s old Medusa roller coaster. Never the less, Zaira is taking me to Six Flags Great Adventure at the end of the month to celebrate my 40th birthday and we’re both excited about this ride.

Danny Forster, host of the Discovery Channel’s “Build It Bigger” is reportedly afraid of heights. While SheiKra is the tallest dive coaster in the world and the first of its kind to incorporate an Immelmann loop (a rolling maneuver), a second, 138-foot dive into an underground tunnel and a water-feature finale. While not POV this on-ride video captures Danny’s emotions during this thrilling ride.

Nemesis – Alton Towers, UK

Nemesis is a suspended coaster at Alton Towers in England. Although the ride was too fast for this camera to catch decently I still think this video gives a great sense of the speed of the ride and the flyover of the walkway shows exactly what makes suspended roller coasters so great.

Dragon Wagon Coaster @ St. John’s Autumn Festival

This kiddie coaster, Dragon Wagon, was set up at the Autumn Festival at St. John’s School in Milpitas, CA the weekend of September 19-21, 2008. The ride is owned and operated by Brass Ring Amusements as part of their Midway Of Fun.

Neither Zaira nor I could ride to get on-ride video as there’s a five foot height limit

Oblivion – Alton Towers, UK

Although Oblivion, The Ride, looks really awesome it’s way too short to justify a trip to England. Luckily, Alton Towers is home to many, many other rides as well.

(GCII), TERMINATOR®: THE COASTER will feature a loading station “fly-thru,” a state-of-the-art sight and sound package, and unique queue line and on-board entertainment elements. The GCII-designed Millennium Flyer coaster trains will zip through five belly-flopping hills and six high speed banked turns over 2,850 feet of track to create a ride that delivers the acrobatic thrills of a modern roller coaster while retaining the nostalgic look and feel of a classic “woodie.”

Primeval Whirl- Disney’s Animal Kingdom- Orlando, Flordia

Primeval Whirl at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida seems to me like a spinning wild mouse. It is a wild mouse type coaster where the car spins based on your weight.

Jeremy Reid’s Homemade Roller Coaster- Newcastle, Oklahoma

Viper – Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, CA

Any true roller coaster fan will tell you that Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Viper is the best, by far, of the three Arrow Mega-Loopers. When it was first built (April 1990), it was the fastest looping coaster in the world at 70 MPH. Viper currently features the world’s highest 360-degree loop at 144 feet above the ground, and, despite its age, is still on e of the park’s most popular rides.

Any doubts about Viper’s future at Magic Mountain were dispelled when it was given a fresh coat of paint last year. This helped ensure coaster enthusiasts around the world that Viper is here to stay.

Jungle Log Jam and Space Shuttle at Enchanted Kingdom, Philippines

This video from Freshwave TV shows highlights of both the Jungle Log Jam log flume and the Space Shuttle roller coaster located in the Enchanted Kingdom amusement park in the Philippines.
